Photoblog 6/3/2010 Igiugig to Levelock

Sunrise to go with my coffee.... Lake Iliamna...the start of a long long day...

21 photo panels need to be set and positioned for a fly over along a 35 mile corridor across the tundra...We use a form of tyvek and manilla twine to hold them down as they readily deteriorate...sometimes we go back out and pick em up...but this job...probably not...

Our Eskimo hosts in Igiugig pack our lunches for us in the morning...today we get hard boiled seagull eggs...MMm...Mmmmmmm...

Need fuel and other supplies :) so a quick run to King Salmon 40 miles away...

Today is a travel day...we are flying to Levelock..and basing ourselves outa there...we have a boat with a 40 horse on it to get us 15 miles up the Kvichak River to survey a possible crossing for the fiber optic line......i fully expect to get stuck on a sandbar...its kinda ugly.....
